An Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) 12c Database Administrator certification emphasizes the full set of skills that DBAs need in today's competitive marketplace. This intermediate certification builds upon the competencies in the Oracle Database 12c OCA certification by including the advanced knowledge and skills required of top-performing database administrators, including development and deployment of backup, recovery and Cloud computing strategies. Candidates are required to be certified at the Oracle Certified Associate level before they are begin the OCP certification process. Candidates must also complete a course delivered by Oracle University Training Center, Oracle Authorized Education Center, Oracle Authorized Partner, Oracle Acadmy, or Oracle Workforce Development Program. Once the training course is completed, candidates are required to pass an exam to obtain the certification.

Renewal Period: Within 12 months of certification retirement

The Oracle Database 12c Administrator Certified Professional credential has the following recertification information:

  • Certain Oracle credentials require periodic recertification in order for Oracle to recognize them as "active". For such credentials, candidates must upgrade to a current version within twelve (12) months following Oracle's credential retirement to keep his or her certification in active status. Specific upgrade requirements for each credential will vary and Oracle will notify affected candidates of the applicable upgrade requirements upon credential retirement. Oracle requires candidates to hold an active credential in order to access certain certification benefits including, without limitation, use of Oracle certification logos, eCertificates, score reports, digital badges and certification verification.
