The Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP), Certified Wireless Network Expert (CWNE) is an expert level Wi-Fi certification for the most elite Wi-Fi professionals. The CWNE certification validates that candidates have mastered all relevant skills to administer, install, configure, troubleshoot, and design wireless network systems. Candidates must have knowledge in areas including, protocol analysis, intrusion detection and prevention, performance and QoS analysis, spectrum analysis and management, and advanced design. Candidates must meet experience and other requirements. Candidates must pass four Certified Wireless Network Professional certification exams (CWNA, CWSP, CWAP and CWDP).

Credential Pre-requisite REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must pass the certification exams for Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA), Certified Wireless Security Professional (CWSP), Certified Wireless Analysis Professional (CWAP), and Certified Wireless Design Professional (CWDP). Each required certification must be valid at the time the candidate submits a CWNE application.
Candidate must hold two current, valid networking, security, design, or network analysis certifications from non-CWNP certification providers (vendor-neutral or vendorspecific) in any of the topics below.
- Network Technologies (VoIP, General Networking, etc.)
- Routing/Switching
- Security
- Protocol Analysis
- Radio Frequency (non-WLAN, for example, LTE, Zigbee, Ham Radio)
- Network Design
Experience REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must have a minimum of three years of verifiable, documented, full-time professional work experience related to enterprise Wi-Fi networks. This experience may include pre- or post-sales engineering, consulting or support services, or instructing experience in:
- Enterprise Wi-Fi Administration
- Enterprise Wi-Fi Security
- Enterprise Wi-Fi Protocol Analysis
- Enterprise Wi-Fi Quality of Service
Other REQUIREMENTS
The Certified Wireless Network Expert (CWNE) credential has the following other requirements:
- Candidate must submit three endorsement forms from people familiar with the candidate's enterprise Wi-Fi work history.

Candidate must demonstrate publication of one of the following on an 802.11 topic (for evaluation of explanatory ability related to technical knowledge):
- One published Wi-Fi whitepaper (10+ pages, to be reviewed by CWNP)
- One published Wi-Fi book (with ISBN)
- One recorded (video) instructional presentation
- A published Wi-Fi article in excess of 1000 words
- Regularly updated blog (at least six 802.11-related posts)
- Other writing projects must be pre-approved to be considered, CWNP often makes writing projects available to those seeking CWNE status to assist in meeting this requirement
- Candidate must submit documentation of three enterprise Wi-Fi projects in which they participated or led, in the form of 500 word essays. Essays should demonstrate the candidate's valuable participation in, or leadership of, enterprise Wi-Fi implementation or reparation projects, proper use of 802.11/WLAN vernacular, an in-depth understanding of complex WLAN topics, and accomplishments in design, installation, and configuration of 802.11 networks.

Candidate must pass the certification exams for Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA), Certified Wireless Security Professional (CWSP), Certified Wireless Analysis Professional (CWAP), and Certified Wireless Design Professional (CWDP). Each required certification must be valid at the time the CWNE application is submitted.
