The International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants (EC-Council), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) program certifies professionals who are responsible for securing (or testing the security of) computer networks from a vendor-neutral perspective. A Certified Ethical Hacker understands how to look for the weaknesses and vulnerabilities in networks and/or computer systems, and, lawfully and at the request of an organization, uses the same tools as a malicious hacker. The CEH is appropriate for security officers, auditors, security professionals, site administrators, and others who may be concerned about the integrity of their organizations network infrastructure. Candidates must pass a written exam.

Training and/or Experience REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must hold a CEH certification of version 1 to 7.
Option 2:Candidate must have a minimum of two years of work experience in the Information Security domain.
Option 3:Candidate must have attended an official EC-Council training.
Other REQUIREMENTS
The Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) credential has the following other requirements:
- Candidate must be at least 18 years of age unless he or she provides the accredited training center/EC-Council a written consent of parent/legal guardian and a supporting letter from institution of higher learning. Only candidates from nationally accredited institution of higher learning shall be considered.
Candidates who do not attend the Ethical Hacking and Countermeasures Course must submit a CEH Exam Eligibility Application Form and obtain authorization from EC-Council before attempting the exam.
