ASNT Central Certification Program (ACCP) Professional Level III - Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)

Credential: ASNT Central Certification Program (ACCP) Professional Level III - Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) CA Eligible
Credentialing Agency: American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT)

Renewal Period: 5 years

The American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT), ASNT Central Certification Program (ACCP) Professional Level III - Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) certification are for professionals who have the skills and knowledge to establish techniques, interpret codes, standards, and specifications, designate the particular technique to be used, and to prepare or approve procedures and instructions. ACCP Professional Level III should also have general familiarity with other NDT methods. Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) is used to reveal surface discontinuities and makes it easier to detect flaws than an unaided visual inspection. Liquid penetrant testing is one of the most widely used NDT methods. Its popularity can be attributed to two main factors: its relative ease of use and its flexibility. It can be used to inspect almost any material provided that its surface is not extremely rough or porous. Materials that are commonly inspected using this method include; metals, glass, many ceramic materials, rubber and plastics. Candidates must meet minimum academic and/or experience requirements established by ASNT. Candidates are required to pass the Basic, Method, Procedure Preparation, and Practical examinations.

More information can be found on the certifying agency's website.
