WOMOS 170B Electronic Warfare Technician
WOMOS Description
The Electronic Warfare (EW) Technicians, analyze, plan, organize, execute, monitor, integrate and assess EW operations, threat environment, and technical requirements. The EW Technician focuses the efforts of EW systems, both air and ground, against adversary personnel, facilities, or equipment with the intent of denying, degrading, disrupting, neutralizing, defeating or destroying enemy capabilities, while protecting the use of friendly electromagnetic system operations through active coordination, integration and de-confliction. The EW Technician will integrate EW into the targeting and planning process as well as assist in the development of the enemy EW order of battle, EW target information and products, intelligence, and target selection standards. Junior grade warrant officers (W1 and W2) serve as an EW Technician within a Brigade Combat Team (BCT), Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB), Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB), as well as within other Army units. Advanced-level warrant officers (W3) serve as an EW Technician within a Division, Multi-Domain Task Force (MDTF), and may fill development and broadening assignment positions. Senior-level warrant officers (W4) serve as an EW Technician within a Division and Corps / Corps-level unit, and may also fill development and broadening assignment positions.
