ASI Description

Identifies positions requiring Soldiers who are trained as Patriot Master Gunners.

In addition to obtaining certifications in your field, advanced education is another way to enhance job performance.

Continuing Education

Enlisted Soldiers and Warrant Officers can review Associate and Bachelor degrees in their assigned military discipline, technical field, or leadership to assist in a clear pathway to completing a degree.

Proponent Funded

The International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians, Certified Electronics Technician - Journeyman-Level - Communications credential is for technicians working in the electronics field. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of two-way transceivers and how to service them. Candidates also must understand communication theory, transmitters, deviation, sensitivity, quieting, and troubleshooting. Candidates must pass a written exam.

Renewal Period: 2 years

The International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians, Certified Electronics Technician - Journeyman-Level - Computers credential is for technicians working in the field of electronics. Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of computer systems and hardware and must show proficiency in basic arithmetic and logic operations as they relate to computer theory, computer organization, memory and storage, and input and output equipment. The technician should have some knowledge of software and programming, and be able to explain troubleshooting procedures. Candidates must pass a written exam.

The International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians (ISCET), Certified Electronics Technician -Journeyman-Level – Radar credential validates the technician’s general knowledge of both continuous wave and pulse radar operation. Candidates must know about transmitters and receivers, antennas, transmission lines and their characteristics and CRT display systems and their power supplies. Candidates must pass a written exam.

The Institute for Supply Management (ISM), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification is for supply chain and procurement professionals with skills in areas such as finance, supplier relationship management, organizational global strategy, and risk compliance. Candidates must meet either academic or professional experience to be eligible for the CPSM certification exam. Candidates must take and pass three written exams.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), Medium/Heavy Truck - Electrical/Electronic Systems (T6) certification is for individuals who possess knowledge and skills in the diagnosis and repair of the general electrical/electronic system, battery and starting system, charging system, lighting system, and related vehicle systems. To earn the Medium/Heavy Truck - Electrical/Electronic Systems (T6) certification, candidates must have at least two years of relevant hands-on work experience and pass a written exam.

The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification validates an individual's knowledge and experience in the safety profession. ASP certifies an individual's ability to perform at least 50% of professional-level safety duties in safety, health, environment, and ergonomics. Safety professionals are required to make worksite assessments to determine risks, potential hazards and controls, evaluate risks and hazard control measures for equipment, systems, facilities, and processes, investigate incidents, maintain and evaluate incident and loss records, and prepare emergency response plans. ASP candidates must meet a combination of education and experience requirements. Candidates must take a written exam.

The Defense Intelligence Agency PMO (DIA), Joint Intelligence Planner-Proficiency Level I (JIP-I) is part of the DoD-wide initiative to professionalize the intelligence workforce directed by the USD(I). JIP-I was created to develop, define, and measure broad-based core competencies for joint IP professionals across the Defense Intelligence Enterprise (DIE). JIP-I certification covers both Foundational and Full Performance execution of IP and ensures all joint intelligence planners understand the core concepts of IP and how they support Joint Operations Planning (JOP) and the planning of intelligence operations. Candidates must have at least 18 months of Intelligence Planning Experience performed within the last three years and must currently hold an active TOP SECRET/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance and be in 'good standing' as defined by their employing Component.

The Institute of Certified Records Managets (ICRM), Certified Records Analyst (CRA), certification validates Records and Information Management (RIM) professionals' knowledge and experience in active and inactive records systems; creation and use of records and information; records systems, storage, and retrieval; and records appraisal, retention, protection and disposition. Candidates must meet ICRM's academic and experience requirements to be eligible for the CRA certification exam. Candidates must pass a written exam.

Highly attainable: Credential is related to the duties performed within the military occupation, the minimum education requirement = HS or less and/or minimum experience = 2 years or less experience and no additional requirements.

Medium

Moderate ease of attainment: Credential is related to the duties performed within the military occupation, the minimum education requirement = Associate's and/or prerequisite and/or minimum experience = more than 2 years and less than 10 years of experience.

Low

May be difficult to attain: Credential is related to the duties performed within the military occupation, the minimum education requirement is a Bachelor's degree, and/or minimum experience is 10 or more years.
